Aneeta Milligan 2013

I am a graduate from Glasgow School of Art and Scottish College of Textiles. For over twenty years I have been making and exhibiting my textiles. In the past at Chelsea Crafts Fair, Harvey Nichols and Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and more recently in Ilkley with home exhibitions, Ilkley Arts Trail and the Weaverbird Gallery and framer.

My embroidered work is of a domestic, homely nature reflecting my love of home, family and everyday objects. I am inspired by a favourite jug filled with fresh flowers, a teapot sitting on the Aga waiting to be poured, views from my kitchen window and holidays in my native Scotland.

My colour palette influenced by my Indian background is vibrant and rich and attest to my belief that colour makes people happier. The embroideries are machine and hand stitched and are designed to bring on smile.
