Anita Rowell

This selection of new work traces the narratives of living and working on the land.  I continue to explore the matter of things and the making of things using traditional and non-traditional processes and media.  The use of found objects and collected ephemera to construct collages and assemblages lies at the heart of my practice combined with an emphasis on sculptural approaches to create freestanding work  and wall panels

Walking, gardening and cooking are sources of inspiration for my artwork. This year I celebrate slow food with a collection of recipes in booklet form with illustrations – ‘On a plate –recipes from plot 4’. ‘A Walker’s Archive’ is a sculptural display encourages us to consider another way of viewing the matter and whether things could have been otherwise.  ‘Acts of enclosure’ investigates the use of land and access issues using textile processes.
