Anna Tosney takes her inspiration from the countryside where she grew up. Born and bred in Skipton, she aims to capture the stormy skies, bold landscapes and quirky characters she comes across in the Dales.
She studied Fine Art (Printmaking) at Cardiff, completing her degree in 2000 and then went on to study for an MA in Ceramics. Having experimented with different methods of printmaking, she developed her own style, using drypoint and monoprint techniques.
Mike Smith is a printmaker from Leeds who creates intricate prints of wildlife, people and places. His passion for observing the tiny details that go into his art has literally taken him to new heights.
“As a glider pilot I am always on the lookout for birds as indicators of where the lift is. One of my ‘most memorable moments’ was circling in a thermal with a buzzard 50ft above me – and using the lift rather better than me!”
