Catherine O’Hare

After graduating from art school in 1990, Catherine was selected to take part in contemporary art auctions at Bonhams in Knightsbridge, London. From 1991 to 1994 she was represented by Vera Grodzinski Gallery in London and took part in a prestigious group show of contemporary still life painters at King Street Gallery in London.

She has subsequently taken part in numerous group and solo shows in the UK and has received many commissions with work held in a number of private collections.
In 2012 Catherine was a second stage finalist in the prestigious John Moores Painting Prize in which she collaborated on a surreal portrait with her husband who is also a painter.

She is still experimenting with the still life format. Her latest painting ‘Crushed’ involved has a trompe l’oeil effect and depicts flowers literally crushed into a small space. More recently Catherine has been working on collagraph prints using leaves from her garden and experimenting with different media and fabrics to produce highly detailed prints.
