Kath Bonson

Living on the edge of the Southern Pennines, I am fortunate to be surrounded by some of the most beautiful, rugged and inspirational landscape and my artistic response to it tries to mirror the range of complexity and diversity that you can discover as you look, and look again. With all of my work I aim to create both a textural and visual ‘sense of place’, that offers multiple layers of interpretation and yet remains accessible and resonant to a wide audience.

The pieces are hand built using Stoneware and Porcelain clays. On many of my observational pieces I use my own process of simplified, screen-printed photographs. Layers and combinations of glazes and oxides are then used to add colour and further texture to the already evocative surfaces.
