Nicola Dyson

I trained as a Landscape Architect and have collaborated on projects with Richard Rogers Parnership, (designer of the Pompidou Centre) Norman Foster, and Elizabeth Banks Associates (previously director of the RHS). I designed and implemented the construction of public squares and urban design projects, parks and gardens. A large proportion of my work is involved with public engagement and producing graphic information for exhibitions and public consultations and illustrative material.

I am currently working as an illustrator and have illustrated a collection of short stories with my husband, (writer and director Jeremy Dyson). We are currently working on a children’s picture book together.

I would love to take this opportunity to exhibit at the Ilkley Arts Trail and to sell some of my illustration work in the form of cards and prints and make connections with the arts community in Ilkley. I would also be happy to host a drawing workshop for adults and children.

My illustrations are primarily about telling stories, creating worlds and finding the delight in the little moments everyday. I have decided to exhibit with Jenni Smith as we are old friends and are both passionate about the arts and providing opportunities for the arts locally.
